Ski in Poiana si partia Drumul Rosu

Sambata trecuta am revenit in Poiana Brasov pentru a face mai multe coborari din Postavarul. Vremea calda din saptamana si ninsorile dinspre weekend au facut ca situatia sa fie complet schimbata, comparat cu o saptamana inainte. Asa cum anticipam zapada era clar mai putina si pietrele erau omniprezente. Talpa snowboardului a platit greu tribut. Cu multa atentie am reusit totusi cateva coborari acceptabile.

Knowledge is powder

Traducerea titlului ar fi: daca cunosti locurile, stii sa te dai la un nivel decent ai o conditie fizica buna si padurea iti este prietena atunci gasesti powder cat cuprinde, chiar si dupa o saptamana in care toata lumea a tavalit zapada prin Postavarul.
Pozele de mai jos sunt facute duminica trecuta, cand in ciuda caldurii au ramas destule locuri in care zapada s-a pastrat la rece, un powder superb :D

Cam asa arata partia Bradul, din Poiana, pana aproape de Craciun, in perioada in care avea loc scoala de instructori de ski si snowboard la care am participat.
...si totusi erau asa de multe de povestit incat am stat doua zile pe petecul acela de zapada ! (iar cu un sezon inainte cursantii zburdau prin powder)

Bike & Climb

Last Friday I went for the sixth ! time this season in Poiana Brasov, with my mountain bike, this time I bike up on the "old road" and then I've stormed down on the "forest road" up to "Pietrele lui Solomon" - "king Solomon rocks" were my friend were climbing. I've joined them for some nice photo shots and a little climb ;)

Well, last Sunday it did the first real mountain bike tour, o a "classic", very nice route: from Brasov to Poiana Junilor, Valea Sticlariei, Stejarii Seculari Crisitan - Brasov.
Perfect route conditions, no mud, quite easy techinical level, few trees have felt down the path...

Jamais deux sans trois !

Finally the 3rd time I've succeeded ?! to bring my board and to ride down from Poiana Brasov to Predeal, on the exact route as in the post below. In the upper part of the valley it was a magnificent powder but at the middle of the descent I've hit some well hidden rocks, seriously damaging my Supermodel board :((
It was obviously less snow than a month ago, but still quite a lot on our way up to "Trei Brazi" chalet.

One months ago... Very nice afternoon, big and fluffy snow, great company ;)
A well hidden spot, off-beaten tracks except by the big brown bears ! Scarry ! brrrr...











just the snowboard was missing, a very good reason to be back down there...
